Carlos Navarro Sanchez is an artist and fashion illustrator who studied Fine Arts at the University of La Laguna, Canary Islands, Spain and now lives in the city of Istanbul pursuing his dream as a freelance artist.
How did you start with your drawings?
My journey began with drawing in the fine arts study period, 2010-2011. I always liked to draw and acquire fashion editorials or magazines until one day when all those images that caught my eye passed to drawing. It was at this time that I started my job and I keep doing that until today.
What kind of things inspire you the most?
To do my job I appropriate images that already exist, editorials, fashion magazines or the internet are my main sources of inspiration. These images are carried by graphite paper, I always use black and white for my drawings, the visual result is feeds my enthusiasm to continue my work.
All images that match each topic are kept within files and it keeps becoming a fetish act.
Do you have any projects planned for the future?
Right now I’m trying new techniques, colored pencil on paper and fabric painting. In addition I am collaborating with some fashion magazines that will soon be published in Spain.
